The issue? Our infrastructure—sewage, water, electricity, roadways—isn’t built to handle this scale. Essential services like fire, police, and our already overcrowded schools would be stretched thin. While I fully support affordable housing, development must be balanced to keep our community safe and sustainable. I’m Dashe Videira, running for State Senate, and I want to share the story of the Franklin special election override from June. In just 4 to 5 weeks, our VoteNO Franklin committee mobilized to bring 45.5% of voters to the polls—an impressive turnout compared to the usual 20% for town elections. As the chair of the VoteNO committee, I led the charge against an override initially set at $9 million, which we successfully reduced to $6.8 million. Although the override was presented as benefiting schools, there was no binding contract to ensure the funds would be allocated there. We created a calculator to show how every household would be affected, emphasizing that taxes and fees were already increasing, override or not. This transparency helped residents make the best decision for their financial situation. By holding town officials accountable, we empowered Franklin residents to make an informed choice, advocating for fiscal responsibility. I’m committed to continuing this work as your State Senator, promoting transparency, accountability, and the interests of our community. In Massachusetts, despite having some of the best hospitals in the world, breast cancer remains a significant health concern. According to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, approximately 8,070 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023. This highlights the urgent need for awareness, early detection, and robust support. The financial burden of breast cancer is profound, impacting not only patients but also their families. Many face steep medical expenses, lost wages, and the emotional toll of treatment. This can lead to delayed interventions and hinder access to necessary care, further complicating their health journeys. I believe in empowering individuals to access a full spectrum of treatment options in their personal fight against breast cancer and other health challenges. By supporting policies that integrate traditional and holistic approaches in their cancer journey, we can provide patients with the resources they need to make informed choices about their health. Additionally, I will advocate for reducing environmental triggers and promoting preventative measures and education aimed at lowering cancer risk in both men and women. At 12:10 pm today they called the race for Governor’s Council 2nd district with Jubinville winning. Thank you so much to every physical person who came out to vote on #nov8. I am blown away by the support that came through with such limited notice. We pulled off nearly the impossible with a very optimistic sticker campaign for a position no one even knew existed! I’m still in shock that even worked and thrilled people are paying attention to this very important area of government. We pulled off a phenomenal campaign in about 3 months. Less time than most candidates and came out strong with over 100k votes. I never even knew that many people prior to this race. From the bottom of my heart, #thankyou. I can promise you one thing, I WILL BE BACK and I REFUSE to give up! Thank you Thank you Thank you It’s all part of #godsplan
